Privacy Policy for QUOTA CORE, OVERLOAD & FLEX

Last Updated: September 24, 2026

The short version

No QUOTA app requires a NovoBuild account or includes advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking. Training data is stored on your device. When iCloud is available, each app can keep a separate private CloudKit copy in your Apple Account. Apple Health access is optional. CORE and FLEX only write completed workouts. OVERLOAD can separately request permission to read recent workout summaries when you enable Show other workouts. Imported summaries stay in memory on your device and are not included in iCloud sync or exports.

1. Scope

This policy covers the iPhone apps QUOTA CORE, QUOTA OVERLOAD, and QUOTA FLEX, published by NovoBuild LLC. They are separate apps, use separate local storage and iCloud containers. They do not directly share plans or training records. With your permission, OVERLOAD can display workout summaries that CORE, FLEX, or other sources have saved to Apple Health.

2. Training data you create

Depending on the app and the features you use, training data can include:

  • Your selected plan, program family, schedule, equipment, and weight unit.
  • Exercise choices, substitutions, custom exercises, and learned load estimates.
  • Loads, repetitions, timed intervals, effort feedback, rest settings, and notes.
  • Workout start and end times, completion history, progression, and training volume.
  • Reminder, display, tutorial, Live Activity, and other app preferences.
  • FLEX stretch-depth choices, movement exclusions, saved routines, comfort feedback, mobility notes, and personal movement check-ins.

This information is used to generate workouts, preserve your plan, calculate future suggestions, show history and progress, and recover interrupted sessions. NovoBuild does not use it for advertising or behavioral profiling.

3. Local storage, widgets, and Live Activities

Each app stores its training record in its own protected app container and maintains local recovery copies. QUOTA CORE shares the minimum state needed with its Home Screen widget through an Apple App Group. QUOTA OVERLOAD uses its App Group to provide the optional Lock Screen and Dynamic Island Live Activity. Those Apple system surfaces may display workout status on your device when you enable or add them.

4. Private iCloud backup, sync, and recovery

When iCloud is available, QUOTA CORE and QUOTA OVERLOAD each store a separate, app-specific copy in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. The apps use these copies to sync across your devices and recover training after a reinstall or local-data problem. Local training remains available while you are signed out or offline.

FLEX sync is off until you choose Enable private iCloud sync in Settings. It stores its own copy in your private iCloud storage, including preferences, sessions, saved routines, and personal observations. It also maintains a local backup. FLEX does not offer CORE and OVERLOAD's seven-day recovery browser. Turning sync off retains the existing iCloud copy.

Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit under Apple's Privacy Policy. NovoBuild does not use private iCloud training data for analytics, advertising, marketing, or sale.

5. Optional Apple Health saving and workout imports

Apple Health sharing is off until you turn it on. If you enable it, the selected QUOTA app can write a completed workout: traditional strength training for CORE and OVERLOAD, or flexibility for FLEX. The saved record includes its start and end time, the QUOTA app name, and an identifier used to avoid duplicate writes.

CORE and FLEX do not request Health read access. In OVERLOAD, Save OVERLOAD workouts and Show other workouts are separate opt-ins. Show other workouts requests read access to workout records and displays summaries from the last 90 days, including activity type, start and end times, duration, and source. Workout and source identifiers are used to avoid duplicates and exclude OVERLOAD's own saved workouts. Exercise, set, and muscle details are not imported.

Imported summaries remain in memory on this device. They are not saved to the app's persistent training record, included in iCloud sync or exports, or sent to NovoBuild. They do not change your program, training maxes, strength trends, or muscle coverage. Turning off Show other workouts clears the imported summaries from OVERLOAD without deleting the original workouts in Apple Health.

The apps do not write calorie estimates. You control Health permissions in iPhone Settings and can manage saved workouts in the Health app. Turning off workout saving does not delete workouts already saved to Health.

6. Optional notifications

If you enable reminders, the apps schedule them through Apple's notification system on your device. QUOTA OVERLOAD can also schedule a next-set alert when a rest timer ends; that alert may include the exercise name. You can disable these features in the app or revoke notification permission in iPhone Settings.

7. Exports and user-directed sharing

You can create a JSON export containing your plan, settings, progression, and workout history. The file leaves the app only when you choose a destination through Apple's share sheet. The recipient or storage provider you select controls its own copy, so review that destination's privacy practices and protect the file appropriately.

8. Information sent to NovoBuild

The apps do not require an account and include no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, or NovoBuild training-data server. NovoBuild does not sell or rent personal information.

If you email support, NovoBuild receives the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. Support correspondence is used to answer the request, diagnose the issue, prevent abuse, and maintain an appropriate service record. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or health information that is not needed for support.

9. Retention and deletion

  • Local training data remains until you delete individual history where available, reset the app's training data, or remove the app from the device.
  • In CORE and OVERLOAD, the in-app reset/delete-training action clears the current local program and training history and propagates the reset to that app's private iCloud record. Reset markers prevent older devices from restoring deleted history. QUOTA OVERLOAD retains app settings and custom exercises when its program and history are reset.
  • Deleting the app from an iPhone removes its local container, but an existing iCloud copy may remain available for restoration until an in-app reset is propagated or you remove the app's stored data through your Apple iCloud controls.
  • FLEX does not currently offer an in-app reset of all data. Remove the app to delete its local data and use Apple's iCloud storage controls to remove its cloud copy. Turning off iCloud or Health saving does not delete previously saved data.
  • OVERLOAD's imported Health summaries are held in memory only. Turn off Show other workouts to clear them; the original Health records remain under your control.
  • Workouts already written to Apple Health and files you exported must be deleted from those destinations separately.

10. Security

The apps use Apple platform storage, App Groups, HealthKit, CloudKit, and system sharing mechanisms. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so keep your device and Apple Account protected and store exports only in places you trust.

11. Children's privacy

The QUOTA apps are not directed to children under 13, and NovoBuild does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the apps.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the apps change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page before or when the related feature is released.
