Playlist Orbit Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
Playlist Orbit is developed by NovoBuild. Playlist Orbit does not track users. There is no NovoBuild account, no advertising SDK, and no third-party analytics in the app.
Apple Music access
Playlist Orbit requests access to Apple Music so it can read the saved songs, playlists, and related metadata needed to build queues, mixes, and listening insights. This information is used on your iPhone to provide the app’s features.
Information protected by Playlist Orbit
Playlist Orbit stores listening events, reports, settings, exclusions, mix preferences, saved mixes, queue progress, and related app state in protected storage on your iPhone. The app keeps verified local snapshots and a pre-upgrade checkpoint to guard against failed writes or migrations.
Private iCloud backup
When iCloud is available, Playlist Orbit also stores two redundant, checksummed backup copies in the user’s private iCloud database. The app merges existing protected history before uploading and does not intentionally replace a larger protected history with a smaller one. These backups are associated with the user’s Apple Account and use Apple’s iCloud service. NovoBuild does not operate a separate Playlist Orbit server and does not receive the contents of the user’s private iCloud database through this feature. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s policies and the user’s Apple agreements.
Exports and imports
Protected-data exports are created locally and leave the app only when the user chooses a destination through Apple’s system interface. Imported Playlist Orbit backups are checksum-verified and merged with existing protected data. Users are responsible for protecting exported files after saving or sharing them outside the app.
Changes to your Apple Music library
Playlist Orbit changes your Apple Music library only when you explicitly confirm Save to Apple Music. Building and editing queues inside Playlist Orbit never modifies the playlists you saved in Apple Music. Orbit preferences such as Show More, Show Less, and exclusions shape Playlist Orbit mixes only and stay separate from Apple Music favorites.
Selling personal information
Playlist Orbit does not sell personal information.
Data control and deletion
Clearing listening history inside Playlist Orbit moves it to recoverable storage so an accidental action does not immediately destroy it. Removing the app removes its locally stored data from that device, subject to normal iPhone backup behavior. Private iCloud backup data may remain in the user’s iCloud storage until removed through the relevant Apple tools or settings.
Apple services
Apple Music, iCloud, Siri, and other Apple services are provided by Apple and governed separately by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Playlist Orbit is an independent app from NovoBuild and is not endorsed by Apple.
